Hot IPTV, also called HOT IPTV Player or HotPlayer, is a player app, not a TV service. The Hot IPTV app plays a playlist you already have, an M3U link or Xtream Codes login from an IPTV subscription; it includes no channels of its own. On a Samsung Smart TV you install it from the Samsung store, note the MAC address it shows, and upload your playlist from a phone or computer.

What is the Hot IPTV Player?

hotplayer.app describes the app as a media player with no channels included: users supply their own content. When we checked on 30 October 2026 it listed the Samsung TV store, LG, Google Play and Roku among the places to get it, and let you use the app for 30 days before paying, then charged a one-time activation of about €14.99 per TV or device, or about €5.99 for a year.

The same site warns that unauthorised websites use its name to sell IPTV subscriptionsand are not affiliated with it. If a site offers you “Hot IPTV channels”, it is not the player's developer.

The player loads the login your IPTV provider sends, usually three Xtream Codes credentials:

How to Install the Hot IPTV App on Samsung Smart TV (Step-by-Step)

Install the player, then upload your provider's playlist from a phone or computer. The same steps work with a Flickhaven login.

Method 1

Hot IPTV Player from the Samsung Store

1Press the Home button on your Samsung remote and open Apps.

2Search for the Hot IPTV (HotPlayer) app and select Install.

3Open the app and write down the MAC address shown on the first screen.

4On your phone or computer, go to hotplayer.app/upload.

5Enter the MAC address exactly, including the colons, and paste your M3U link or Xtream Codes login.

6Save, then return to the TV and reload the app; your channel list loads.

7Turn on Lock MAC in the app so nobody else can replace your playlist.

Hot IPTV Not Working on Samsung Smart TV — Troubleshooting

❓Hot IPTV says it cannot communicate with your playlist+

The playlist link or login is usually wrong or expired, or the MAC address you entered at hotplayer.app/upload does not match the TV exactly, including the colons. Check the link works, re-enter the MAC, save, and reload the app. If it still fails, ask your IPTV provider whether the account is active.

❓Hot IPTV or SS IPTV not finding channels+

Double-check your Server URL, Username, and Password — copy-paste exactly from your activation message. No trailing spaces. Ensure the Server URL starts with http:// or https://. If credentials are correct, contact your IPTV provider to verify the account is active.

❓SS IPTV not available in Samsung App Store+

Search the full name 'SS IPTV' (not SSIPTV or SS-IPTV). If it still doesn't appear, go to Settings → General → System Manager → Language → make sure it's set to English (UK). Try searching again after a TV restart.

❓IPTV buffering on Samsung Smart TV+

Connect via the Ethernet port on the back of your Samsung TV for the most stable stream. If using Wi-Fi, switch to 5 GHz: Settings → General → Network → Network Settings → Wireless → select your 5 GHz network. Run a speed test in the Samsung browser — you need 10 Mbps for HD, 25 Mbps for 4K.

❓4K channels buffering or not loading+

4K UHD streams require 25 Mbps and a compatible display. Go to Samsung Settings → Picture → Expert Settings → HDMI UHD Color → enable for your input. Also try the H.265 version of the channel in your IPTV app if available — it uses half the bandwidth for the same quality.

❓Black screen when opening a channel+

In SS IPTV, go to Settings → Player → toggle Hardware Decoder off (use Software). Some channels use codecs that need software decoding on Samsung TVs. If the channel loads, switch back for others that don't.

❓EPG (TV guide) not loading or showing wrong times+

In SS IPTV: Settings → Playlist → select your playlist → EPG → Force Update. Allow 3–5 minutes. Also check your Samsung TV's time zone: Settings → General → System Manager → Time → Clock → set to Auto with your correct region (UK).

❓App crashes or Samsung TV freezes during streaming+

Hold the Home button on the remote → open the running apps bar → close all background apps. Then relaunch SS IPTV fresh. If crashes persist, go to Settings → Support → Device Care → Manage Storage → select SS IPTV → Clear Cache. Fully restart your TV (hold power button 5 seconds for a proper reboot, not standby).
