What is counted.The headline total (£138.51/month, £1,662/year) is the sum of the subscriptions a UK viewer needs to watch all the sports above live at home: a satellite pay-TV base package and its sports add-on, TNT Sports via Discovery+, Amazon Prime Video, DAZN's entry tier, an averaged pay-per-view allowance, and the TV Licence.
Assumptions. PPV is averaged at three events per year at £19.99 each (£5.00/month). Seasonal sports are costed at the monthly price of the subscriptions that carry them — we do not pro-rate for off-season cancellation, since rights are spread so that cancelling one service usually means missing another sport. Prices are entry-level tiers with no bundle discounts, which vary by promotion and are usually contract-bound.
