Methodology & Sources
What is counted. The headline total (£138.51/month, £1,662/year) is the sum of the subscriptions a UK viewer needs to watch all the sports above live at home: a satellite pay-TV base package and its sports add-on, the Champions League broadcaster's streaming pass, the online retailer's streaming service, the boxing streaming service's entry tier, an averaged one-off event purchase allowance, and the TV Licence.
Assumptions. One-off event purchases are averaged at three events per year at £19.99 each (£5.00/month). Seasonal sports are costed at the monthly price of the subscriptions that carry them — we do not pro-rate for off-season cancellation, since rights are spread so that cancelling one service usually means missing another sport. Prices are entry-level tiers with no bundle discounts, which vary by promotion and are usually contract-bound.
